Important
Information You Should Know
- Computers
are hard working machines, but they do need to be treated gently!
- Have your
computer professionally “cleaned” at least 4 times a year.
- Never open
email attachments that you do not recognize.
- Never give
out your personal information to anyone over the internet.
- Virus
scanners only work if updated.
- Do not shut
your computer off if the hard drive light is on.
- Your CD-Rom
drive is not a cup holder!
- You’re “A”
drive is not a place to store your credit cards!
- Ask if your
computer can be upgraded before buying new!
- Memory and
hard drives are two different components. Memory is how much space
your computer has to use for programs right now, and hard drive is how
much space your computer has to store programs forever. You need
about 256-512mb of memory and at least 20 GB of hard drive space.
1000 mb = 1 GB.
- Your
computer speed is measured in gigahertz (GHz). Industry standard is
1.2 GHz and greater.
- If you have a
high speed connection, it is best to have a internet firewall.
- It is best
to leave your computer on – if you use it every few days.
- If you have
a problem, write down all the information about the problem, then
call 2nd Alarm Computers, LLC.
